Where to plant your tree
Remember these seedlings can grow up to 70 meters tall so don’t plant them too close to your house in front of a great view or under a hydro line.
You can also plant your seedling in a pot to take home and plant with your family at home or at your school, park or other location.
How to plant your tree
When you are ready to plant outside, choose a spot with good soil (wet but well-drained is ideal) and lots of room to grow. Plant it in the sun or shade depending on the species you have received.
DIG • Dig a hole 15 to 20 cm (6 to 8 inches) wider and deeper than the size of the root plug. Place the tree in the hole with the trunk angled straight up and backfill in the rest of the hole with the original soil. Pat down the soil on top firmly using your hands. Next, build a small circle with soil around the trees so water will drain towards the tree.
WATER • Always water after planting and every week in dry weather. Feel the soil around the tree to see if it is too wet or too dry.
LOVE • Love your tree, take care of it and visit often.
